Charity Champion for Southampton Children’s Hospital Charity

I recently took on the role as the first Charity Champion for Southampton Children’s Hospital Charity in order to help fundraise for vital paediatric services in Southampton and beyond.

The first major appeal falling under Southampton Children’s Hospital Charity will be the development of a specialised, state of the art new children’s emergency and trauma department at University Hospital Southampton.

The new charity will also allow the hospital to take a huge step towards their long-term ambition to build a dedicated children’s hospital in Southampton and creates a fantastic opportunity for patients and the public to get involved with their health services.

I got involved as I’m a local girl and I couldn’t think of a better charity to get involved in. The idea is over the next year I will help the Charity to create a cook book developed in conjuction with families, patients and carers that can be sold in order to help fundraise. As well as getting involved in other key fundraising events throughout the year.

The Piam Brown Ward was launched in November after a refurbishment and HRH Cornwall attended to open the ward and it was an honour to meet her!
